About

After running his own private practice physiotherapy clinic in Melbourne for 27 years, Raul moved to Geelong in 2020 with his partner Lauren and 8-year-old son Hugo. They are now enjoying life in Highton. Raul has many passions besides trying to stay fit. He has a Portuguese background therefore food is central in his family’s lifestyle. He finds relaxation in cooking up a storm in the kitchen. However, Raul’s greatest passion has always been travelling to never-visited countries to learn about and experience different cultures. Raul speaks five languages.

 

Experience

Raul worked for an airline for 5 years before studying physiotherapy.  He graduated from LaTrobe University in 1994 and immediately spent two years working overseas. In the US he worked in a specialist rehabilitation hospital and in Scotland a small elite orthopaedic clinic where he developed his skills and interest in private practice work.

 

Raul returned to Australia in 1996 to start a physiotherapy service within a multidisciplinary medical clinic in St Kilda/Elwood. He managed a successful practice there for 27 years and developed a large and loyal patient base to the extent that word of mouth was the only advertising needed.

Raul is a traditional hands-on physiotherapist and his many years of experience deliver effective and quick treatment results. Raul is known to enjoy a good chat with his patients and believes a good patient/therapist relationship leads to better treatment outcomes.
